About Inner Rice Fields 2017
The mind is a rice field Infinite rice fields
In 2017, Ivan Nisida travelled to Northern Vietnam and rode a motorbike for the very first time in his life: 400km in the breathtaking mountains of Ha Giang. From fog to tropical heat, Ivan explored valleys and peaks. During this adventure, he discovered the complex structure of rice fields and its aesthetic potential. The landscape evoked a strong feeling of belonging and creation.
About Ivan Nisida Ivan Nisida is a Brazilian visual artist whose oeuvre gravitates around Art & Nature. He harvests inspiration and purpose in the contemplation of natural landscapes.
Gorillas in Rwanda. Lions in Uganda. 400km motorbike journey in Vietnam. Trekking trails and boat rides into the Amazon. Volcanos in Ecuador. The landscape is his atelier.
Ivan Nisida is also a writer, mainly devoted to poetic prose. His first book, “Gem", was published in 2018.
Born in 1989, Ivan grew up in São Paulo under the influence of five cultures (Brazilian, French, Swiss, Czech and Japanese). He lived for 3 years in France and travelled over 30 countries around the world - and his camera was always there.
Moreover, Ivan dedicated the past 10 years to the protection of nature. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Policy (Sciences Po Paris) and works for the Black Jaguar Foundation, an international organization focused on implementing one of the largest reforestation projects on Earth.
