About Found Utopia This beautiful photograph in landscape-style, is from a series that Carin produced for Artis, the Amsterdam based Zoo. Both the girl and the turtle show a vulnerability but also strength.
About Carin Verbruggen & Ferry Drenthem Soesman In 1996, Carin Verbruggen & Ferry Drenthem Soesman not only became lovers but also partners on a quest for beauty, in which they share a strong passion for photography, music and art.
Carin studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Art The Hague, and Ferry had a career as a sound and light technician for NDT (the Netherlands Dance Theatre).
It was the perfect time to start their collaboration: worldwide the analog and digital world started to merge. Taking full advantage of their different backgrounds and expertise they developed the perfect synergy between concept, photography, graphic design and digital art.
Ever since, their work field has expanded worldwide, they can be found shooting not only in Europe but also in places like Morrocco, Moskou, South Africa and the US, wherever their work or inspiration brings them. Their work has been published and used for fashion and lifestyle magazines, album covers, advertisements, websites, exhibitions and books worldwide, and they collaborated on projects with Porsche, Elle, Vogue, Esquire, Candy Dulfer, Martin Garrix and Usher, just to name a few.
In recent years, they increasingly developed their own, personal work. In this work the pursuit of beauty seems to prevail, but it is the underlying vulnerability captured in the images that gives them power.
